SOCATOTS is the world's first soccer specific physical play programme for children from six months to school age. Aimed at giving children their very first start with the ball. SOCATOTS was developed by Simon Clifford and is a truly unique programme.  SOCATOTS uses soccer or football as our medium and of course a child attending SOCATOTS will greatly develop their skills in this area, however SOCATOTS is about a great deal more than just developing a child's affinity and control with the ball, it is about giving them a well-rounded start in their physical, social and educational development and developing the 'whole child'.

Attending SOCATOTS classes has enormous benefits for young children and their parents, some of which are listed below:

  • Significantly improved balance and co-ordination, as well as posture
  • Improved listening and understanding of instructions
  • Significantly improved colour recognition and numeracy skills
  • Development of cognitive skills (thinking, reasoning, remembering)
  • Increased self confidence and independence from parents
  • Improved social skills
  • More body awareness and understanding of the benefits of exercise
  • Very special parent and child time to enjoy together with no disruptions!!

Making real footballers

Jed, Oliver, Robyn, Theo, Harry, Taylor, Ethan, Jack, Cameron……

006   ……no mater what the name is, boys and girls are shining when they play for their local football team!!!

Socatots in York is pleased to be developing real footballer players throughout York and Ripon.

Many of the Socatots graduates have progressed onto Brazilian Soccer Schools and are showing real signs of potential.  Many of the first Socatots have reached under 7/8 age groups and are shining for their local football teams.

Junior football does not need to be kick and chase as many of these players are proving, they are demonstrating technical ability way beyond their years and following a football philosophy which one day might give them a real chance of following their dream…….watch this space!

socatots 07.03.07 (12)

Socatots York & Ripon were proud to reach the final of the What’s on for Little One’s Website Awards in 2009.

Socatots York & Ripon owner Brian MacNair reached the final after being nominated by parents attending his classes for the Most Outstanding Activity or Class Leader Award in 2009.

We believe Socatots develops children on all levels:

physical development in terms of improved coordination, balance and dexterity.

educational development as children who attend Socatots will be ready to enjoy school as they are good listeners, ready to follow instruction and enjoy achieving and completing challenges.

social development through taking turns, mastering difficult skills through practice and making friends through enjoying games and working with other children.

Florence masters football skills in Ripon!!!

 069

Florence from Ripon has recently completed the Socatots programme just prior to starting school in September.

Florence has been attending for just over 2 years and has developed into a talented little footballer.  More importantly, Florence has loved attending the classes and the mix of games and football skills has significantly improved her balance and coordination.

Mum Sarah has also enjoyed Socatots and said “she has come so far, I remember when we first started and we found it difficult shall we say!!!  Socatots is good fun for parents too and it has been the most enjoyable class I have attended with Florence.”

Good luck at School in September Florence.
